Dhaka/New Delhi – In a significant financial development, Bangladesh has made a payment of $384 million to Adani Power, partially settling its outstanding dues for electricity imports from the Indian energy giant. According to sources familiar with the matter, the $384 million payment was made against what were termed “admitted” claims — invoices that have been verified and mutually agreed upon by both sides. The partial clearance of dues is expected to ease pressure on Adani Power’s balance sheet and also restore investor confidence in the viability of cross-border power trade in South Asia.
